Looking to make the report even better we hope to soon add by popular request, a weather cam pointed at the boat ramp in addition to a new weather station link to our specific location. We also will highlight our Winter Contest Sponsors products and the latest fishing gear tested by our Guides that work for us. We appreciate the reports and pics from our readers. WINTER ICE SKATING: We tested maintaining an ice skating area behind the Marina last Winter and it was well received. This year we will attempt to maintain one area for hockey with nets and one area just for skating.. In an effort to provide a non fishing Winter activity the Park has encouraged and supported our efforts. Last year families fished and skated for fun fun fun!!! We will be setting up Hockey Nets next week. Make Eleven Mile a stop on your search for skating. Its all about the fishing for most but for others its all about the skating!!

PIC # 4: The 11 Mile Ice Lazer series featuring the Krystal Lazer and Tiny Tot. Made by us available only here at the Marina
TROUT: VERY GOOD: Lots of great early ice action on mostly Cuttbows ranging 15" to 22". Many baits are working. Spoons like the Kastmaster in FT or CDY doing great along with Krystal Lazers. Tubes and crappie jigs in white and pink also doing well. Tip them all with meal or wax worm or gulp Maggot. We have done well in 6 to 12 feet of water from Rocky Flats to points West. Rocking Chair on the south side doing well. CPW stocking trucks here again this week at North Shore.
KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT: We haven't gone out yet and haven't talked to anyone who has. Ice is thick enough now to make the trek.
NORTHERN PIKE: FRUSTRATING: Starting to see a decent number of fish. So far they are very cautious. Some opportunities with patience. We like Stoll in 8 to 10 feet of water.

We like a little covering on the ice. Makes for good fishing and safety. GO early in the morning to avoid afternoon wind. Anchor down if you know whats good for you. It is the strong bite you expect from early ice. Stoll to Rocky Flats, Cross Creek to Lazy Boy have seen success. Don't follow the crowd. 12 to 20 feet is a good depth. The ice is to clear to be good fishing when too many people show up in the same spot. Lots of Cuttbows in the 16 to 19 range. Marina North Shore area seeing lots of stockers great for the kids to have lots of action. They haven't seemed to move to the rest of the lake yet. But will eventually.

MARINA STORE HOURS MONDAY TUESDAY FRIDAY - SUNDAY 8:00AM - 4:00 PM
ICE UPDATE TUESDAY DEC 14 : Off again On again. Looks like 95% cap this morning. We are seeing a nightly cap followed by a daily blow off. Wednesday calling for severe wind up to 60 mph. We are optimistic that it will settle down later in the week and hopeful for a full cap by the weekend. It would take another 4 or 5 days after that to build up to minimum for us at 4" Stay tuned.
CURRENT CONDITIONS: The wind has returned with a vengeance. What ice was at Cross Creek is gone due to wind. As long as it continues to blow like it has the lake will have an impossible time freezing. Coldest night to come supposedly on Friday but if the wind won't sit the lake can't freeze. Cross your fingers. All fishing access areas are open. Shore opportunities for catching. Updates posted as needed.

TROUT: FAIR TO POOR: It would seem the conditions have been just right but apparently not. Lots of shoreline but not lots of fish. Here and there and good size ones at that but a fare number of anglers have come up short. Rodgers Mountain has seen hot and cold action with decent fish. Bait lure fly or jig all seem to be doing about the same, slow. Maybe that means the lake is about to freeze one can only hope. With this mild weather anglers are out and about trying their luck and why not?

CURRENT CONDITIONS: NO ICE It's been dry and mild until Wed afternoon. The weather report called for snow less than an inch. Looks like 6 to 8 to us. NICE. Cold temps last night -4 making some shoreline ice. Lake is wide open Shore fishing opportunities abound. The ice in shallow areas in morning more than likely will be gone by days end. Back to the 50's by weekend but cold at night. Won't be long. Some campsites around the lake are closed. Electric sites at Rocky Ridge behind Park Office open. We anticipate the lake to freeze in a traditional time frame which would be early to mid December.. Extreme caution advised for early ice. We like 4" minimum. Early ice is volatile. We will post updates daily as needed stay tuned and click Support The Report

FISHING REPORT NEWS: It takes time and dedication to produce The Weekly Fishing Report. It is challenging in the high season We have more time to work on things in the off season. Winter is upon us and we have a love and passion for spiritual Eleven Mile. and its hard water angling. We try hard to stick to "the script"…catching fish at Eleven Mile. Please keep them coming. For all those that send pics and reports this Winter make sure to stop in for a free 11 Mile Marina Krystal Lazer or Tiny Tot ice jig AND Winter is time for our annual pic contest. All entries published qualify for a chance to win $100.00 in store credit. AND we have created an opportunity to help out and say thanks VIA clicking " SUPPORT THE REPORT" All donations most appreciated and will be used to improve and add to the report in 2022. THANKS FOR FOLLOWING AND SUPPORTING THE 11 MILE MARINA WEEKLY FISHING REPORT. "It's about the catching" HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON

SUPPLY CHAIN UPDATE: As we move into Winter issues will be obvious just like all industries. Expect to see a decent selection in your favorite store early in the Season. Here are direct reports from some manufacturers. Luhr Jensen currently has ZERO Krocodiles in stock and very few Needlefish. We use both ice fishing with an emphasis on Krocs. StrikeMaster has ZERO Lithium power augers in back stock. All existing inventory sitting in retail. Acme has very little new product such as RattleMaster, Tungsten and D-chain. Eagle Claw has told us to expect not more than 60% of what we ordered. Pure Fishing continues to have issues in most product lines. Hawken Tackle makers of Trout Traps says they have no way of knowing when things will show up and they currently have nothing in stock WOW. None of them have any idea when things will show up. For the most part things have been made and shipped. So product by product things can change daily based on what container gets out of port. If the core states like MN, WI etc in the mid west have a good ice Winter the pressure on product will increase St, Croix which manufactures most but not all products in the USA cannot keep up with demand. OH those pesky consumers LOL. Bottom line is we will have plenty of "stuff" to fish with but not necessarily what you want when you want it. The new post pandemic normal for now is take what you can get catch what you can!!!.

PIC # 1: Caught on 1/4 oz Black Marabou Jig. 25" little over 7lbs
PIC # 2: Released
PIC # 3: Curtis lands this 23" little over 6lb Cuttbow at Corral Cove. Nightcrawler
PIC # 4: Acme Kastmaster brand is owned by Hard & Soft Bait Co of Atkinson WI. They have informed us that we are the #1 retailer of Kastmaster lures in the USA. The bottom line is the lure catches. We have caught fish all over the place which includes many places outside of CO. But when it comes to Eleven Mile and Spinney they are at the top. The lure that has been referred to by some anglers as their "lucky charm". We sell more because we stock more variety than other outlets. This pic shows some new items that will be difficult to get or already are. The DR Tungsten is a significantly heavier lure with a 1/8 oz spoon having the equivalent drop rate of a 1/4 oz. We have these only in 1/8 and 1/12. The Rattle Master, The Bait Fish the Chain Master AND the brand new Acme Hyper Hammer TT (turnable tale) ice jig. It's hot while supplies last!
PIC # 5: LOST AND FOUND. We have all done it. Leave something behind. This nice catch and release net was left on the dock at the little boat cove as we call it a week or so ago. If it's yours we are holding it. Happy Thanksgiving
TROUT: FAIR : The action has been sporadic with a fair number of skunks walking the shoreline and a fair number of big fish being landed. Cuttbows 17 to 20 inches with quite a few bigger Gunkers. Bait particularly Night Crawlers have been consistent. Tube and Marabou jigs have been our choice with white, green and pumpkin doing well. You can fish all day and not do so good but concentrate on 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after sunrise or sundown and do well.
KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT: The river saw great action on 4 year olds all Fall.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO POOR: A few here and there but mostly quite on the Pike front. Those caught were surprise surprise for Trout anglers.
SPECIAL NOTE: 11 Mile Marina is located at the North Shore in Eleven Mile State Park, Lake George Colorado. A CPW Park Pass is required on all vehicles entering the Park. Any fees for Guide/Outfitter/Rental services do not include Park fees, CO fishing license or gratuities.

PIC # 1: Some one caught a four year old Kokanee
TROUT: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: One thing for sure everyday is different. Trolling is hot one day then not, jigging and pitching is hot one day then not. Mix it up be prepared. As the water temperature drops the bite tends to get more challenging but the biggest fish are yet to come. There has been crud in the water from the seasonal bottom turn. That usually has a negative impact on the bite but we have had no problems catching. Jointed Rapala is a good bet this time of year. Most flock to the West end and it has been good. WE have caught fish all around the lake.
KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: Nothing of interest to mention here. A fish or two far and few between.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: Action continues bite times vary. Spinner baits, Rapala and Daredevle were some highlights. Try the West end North side in 8 to 10 feet of water from Stoll Mtn West as far as you can go. Shoreline from Howbert to Witchers also producing. The bite can be very strong for short periods but overall very consistent. As the water continues to cool action will probably slow but the bigger fish are more likely to bite.

ICE FISHING SEMINAR SATURDAY OCTOBER 30, 2021
HOURS: MONDAY, TUESDAY, FRIDAY, SUNDAY 8:00 AM - 4:30PM SATURDAY 8:00AM - 5:30 PM
THE SUPPLY CHAIN: As the supply chain woes go unabated every industry is effected. It is difficult for everyone. Retailers are challenged by not knowing what and when they will get needed inventory. The ice fishing gear outlook is no different then the rest questions questions questions. We ordered 25 Strike Master Electric Augers in July. We recently received 13. We are pessimistic about the rest. We are also receiving things ordered in Feb and March for the Summer just arriving now Oh boy that's a big help. We hear ships are in dock and can't unload. We think things look bleak for ice fishing overall from a gear perspective. Eagle Claw and Pure Fishing have been hit hard and have had fulfillment problems all Summer we see no short term light at the end of the tunnel for now. We have made strategic buys through out the year and feel good about our current inventory. Many people are surprised at what we have hanging. If you are in Denver Metro and are in need check out Valley Country Tackle. Louise probably has one of the best stocked stores in the State. Small store BIG inventory. Good for her !

PIC # 1: He said he caught a total of 12 that day
PIC # 2: Cuttbow chunky and spunky. She caught it on a 3 inch green tube jig with red sparko
PIC # 3: The windier it got the better the catching got this day
TROUT: VERY GOOD: The past week saw some fantastic fishing and catching! Boaters were happy with easy limits. The calm mornings were more difficult and some anglers did come up short. With out a doubt the windier it was the better the action. If your equipment is up for the task use the wind don't fight it. Drift with it while you cast of jig. Lots of baits are working it's that time of year. Tube jigs in green and black were hot. Tas Devils were also hot if you have the right color pattern and it changes through out the day. Pattern #'s 51, 55, 46 and 47 out performed others. Needlefish on the down rigger or lead core particularly pink/pearl did very well. Jointed Rapala also a Fall favorite. Fly patterns in black whether it be Buggers or leach did well. Shore anglers loving the dark as night time bites are strong. Dress accordingly. Power Baits, salmon eggs, mallow and crawlers are working great.
KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: Nothing of interest to mention here. A fish or two far and few between.
NORTHERN PIKE: VERY GOOD: Anything in black was hot last week. Spinner baits, Rapala and Daredevle were some highlights. PIC # 1: Two of Seven caught that day. Serious catching fun! pic courtesy S.Dick
TROUT: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: October is known to be some of the best action of the year. As the water continues to cool the fish get hungrier. There is no right way or wrong way to fish as long as it's legal. Fly lure or bait this is the time to get out and catch a trophy. We like Rapala's, Black Woolly Buggers, tube jigs. Bait of choice this time of year is Pautzke salmon eggs.
KOKANEE SALMON: POOR:
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: It has been a good run for the last few weeks. We love the first 10 days of October as some of the best and we are headed in that direction. Big sticks, spinner baits and Daredevle doing good. Action can be had around the lake. Mid morning to mid afternoon has been good.

LURE OF THE WEEK: Mack's Lure has a nice line of baits that work well with their Sling Blade or any dodger for that matter. The Wedding Rings, Wiggle Hoochie and Double Whammy work great on Kokanee and Trout and have performed well here in recent days.

PIC # 1: Pike are biting. White tube jig West End
PIC # 2: Gene finally scores his 22" Master Angler fish
PIC # 3: Another great day on the Mile. Gene takes Doug catching
TROUT: GOOD: Mornings have improved and mid to late afternoon continues to be surprisingly good. Many methods are productive from boat and shore. Weeds make trolling lead line less productive since a lot of time is checking for and removing weeds that ride down the line. Down Riggers are more productive since the bait is less likely ro receive a weed even though the cable above the ball may grab some. Kastmasters and Tas Devils pitched from a stationary position out of a boat on the West End in 25 water or less have done well. Hatches through out the day make fly fishing lots of fun. Who needs a river? You certainly don't accept for the change of venue and technique. Night angling continues to be good as it often is. Salmon Peach Power Bait or Night Crawlers seem to be the bait of choice.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR: The bite is sporadic but we are still seeing some caught here and there. A few surprises also as our Guide Carl caught a big 4 year old on the West end fishing for Trout on a recent trip. (still waiting for pic…you need proof around these parts haha) Not uncommon this time of year as any four year olds that have survived Gill Lice and there are a fair number will begin working their way up the river as we move into Fall. Other smaller fish have been caught off Howbert in water depth 35 to 45 feet with fish suspended 15 to 25 feet down. Others caught around Duck Island. Many fish are in deep water but not deep
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: The action has picked up dramatically. Lots of fish being landed in the 24 to 31 inch range. Tube jigs and spinner baits working well. The whites and chartreuse have been particularly good. Tube jigs are cheap you will get bit off from time to time but it is worth the effort and minimal expense. Don't even think of working a tube with a steel leader. Now when working a $20.00 stick bait a small steel leader doesn't hurt. They are also hitting Daredelves and Kastmasters. We have caught them in the morning and late afternoon. West end along the overflow channel on the East side and Cross Creek to the wash out on the North side. Howbert to Witchers Cove and Rocky Flats also a good bet.
PIKE TOURNAMENT: We are sorry but there is no way we can pull this off this year with the staff that we do not have. If some one is interested in running it give Larry a call to discuss. We can advise and host but as busy as we have been come September there will be nothing left in the tank and our staff will be thoroughly burned out. It takes a big effort to put on a good event. SORRY MISSED LAST WEEKS REPORT BEEN VERY BUSY. WHICH ALWAYS BEATS THE ALTERNATIVE!
SERVICE WARNING: Certain rentals maybe unavailable due to staff shortage
WATERCRAFT RESERVATIONS: The new online reservation system is a big hit.
CURRENT CONDITIONS: All campsites are open. All facilities are open. Witchers Cove boat ramp has been closed due to staff shortage. For all the new visitors that expect to go swimming here be advised that swimming is not permitted. Lake level back to normal. Rain continues to make appearances keeping things very green. Weed conditions on the West End have become a problem for trolling. Mosquitos are bad this year and particularly bad at Spinney. There is no fire ban!
LEAD CORE TROLLING: This is the best and easiest way to catch fish here this time of year. We have ready to fish rigs with 100 yards of lead core and leader starting at $129.99. Check it out and talk to us about how to be productive at Eleven Mile. NO BS HERE THEY CATCH FISH!
LURE OF THE WEEK: The Tasmanian Devil is consistently a hot ticket here and at Spinney. Many different color patterns work depending on the day. 13 gram on the troll or cast 7 gram on the Down Rigger. We have a few selected patterns in 26 gram also that work well here. Check our selection out.

PIC # 1: Catching fish and having fun at the Mile.
TROUT: FAIR TO GOOD: The mornings have been calm and hot. The bite has been cold. But as the afternoon rolls around and a little breeze comes on the bite also turns on. We found early afternoon to be strong and it continues to be. Many anglers leaving disappointed because they gave up before 1:30PM.. We went two days ago at 1:00PM and caught fish non stop until 3:00PM. Many days at Eleven Mile timing is everything. Chartreuse is a good color particularly the Tas Devil, Needlefish and Arnies Dynamac. Weeds make trolling difficult in some areas but the fish like hanging around them. Work 20 to 35 feet with many fish suspended in 20 to 35 feet in water up to 60 feet deep. Shore action good early late and at night. Salmon Peach Power bait has been good and the Eleven Mile Night crawler sandwich
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO POOR: The bite has dropped off with fewer fish being landed. Early AM seems to be a better time. Work the channel areas from Goose to Duck and Duck to Deer Island. Pro Troll e-chips on lead core or down rigger. Sling blades, dodgers and green rainbow pop gear can help the cause. Patience and finding the fish help.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO POOR: It's not that you can't catch them but it takes work and persistent effort. Mostly smaller fish with the bigger ones teasing with follow ups. Bills Spinner baits and big sticks have produced. Rock drop offs and weed beds, We like the overflow channel west of Stoll.
PIKE TOURNAMENT: We are sorry but there is no way we can pull this off this year with the staff that we do not have. If some one is interested in running it give Larry a call to discuss. PIC # 1: Pic courtesy D. Thorpe
TROUT: GOOD: The dog days of Summer with hot calm and weedy conditions have slowed the bite a little but plenty of Cuttbows 14 to 17 inches being landed. Shore action best at sundown or at night. Trolling difficult on the West End. The weeds are down early AM but get bad soon after sunrise. Jigging, working the fly rod or pitching lure works best. Bite times vary with early and mid morning best. Tas Devils and Kastmasters always a good bet.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: More anglers are catching. North Shore to Duck Island. Mostly smaller fish but some salmon are better than no salmon. You have to get down. No down rigger no lead core no salmon. Just received Mack's Sling Blades and a nice selection of Mack's Double Whammy Classic and Kokanee, Cha Cha, Wedding Rings and Kokanee Killer. Also Pro Troll Kokanee E-chips have also arrived.. Put these on Lead Core rig. Apply Anise Pautzke Fire Gel liberally go out from North Shore in 60 feet of water 35 feet down. There are some really little ones turning up which is good news for the future.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: The water temp is perfect for Spinner Baits. Then tend to work better when the water hits 66. Try Bill's Spinner Bait in Black/Blue, Orange/Brown or White. Work them like a jig. West end is good. We like coves from Howbert to Witchers. Later in the afternoon is good. Jigging and picthing are working. Perch and Fire Tiger Rapala have done well.
Email Larry@11milemarina.com

PIC # 1: A very very nice Eleven Mile limit of two over 16 thats for sure
PIC # 2: The Ishams know how to catch Kokanee!!!
PIC # 3: The Dog heard the fishing was so good here at the Mile he flew in from Hawaii to check it out
TROUT: VERY GOOD: The bite may be sporadic but when its on its on. Lots of fish being caught in the 12 to 14 range and a very strong showing for fish over 20. It has been a good season for Browns. Generally still much harder to catch they have been making a strong showing this year. Many Cuttbows from 18 to 21 being landed. Variety is the spice of fishing life. Many baits have worked. Those that fish their favorite with confidence catch fish. Fly rod, spin rod, cast rod, bait rod all catching. WE have the baits!
KOKANEE SALMON: EXCELLENT FOR SOME POOR FOR OTHERS: We signed an NDA with the Ishams in order to get that pic. So we will not disclose their secret on this report. We can throw some hints your way. Straight out from the Marina in 60 feet of water. Pink is a good color. Use a dodger. Use a Lead core (we have them "ready to fish" for sale) A little secrete scent no a lot of scent doesn't hurt. Scent will only be disclosed in store. Be patient work it hard. Find the fish and stay on them. No electronics good luck. Don't forget the net!!!
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: Some very nice fish have been landed by anglers from shore working Rapala's. The BMX in perch and rainbow trout have proved they are worth the money. Shallow water productive depending on time of day. As water continues to heat up Spinner Baits will be more productive. Late in the afternoon has been a good time.

PIC # 1: Trolling action on a pink/pearl Needlefish.
PIC # 2: We have an awesome Marina store with a great tackle offering along most anything you need want or forgot.
TROUT: FAIR TO GOOD: Midge hatch makes for challenging catching. Mostly stockers with an occasional whopper. Tas Devils, Needlefish, Rapala working well. Always a good bet with the Kastmaster. Try the CDY 1/4 oz. Bite was late afternoon last week now its mid morning early afternoon. Calm conditions make for difficult action. Night fishing has been good. Night crawler and mallow or salmon peach power bait.
KOKANEE SALMON: POOR: No reports of any good luck.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: Action is sporadic but hot when it happens. Try Rapala, Daredevle and big sticks trolling 10 feet of water mostly West. Look to the early afternoon. Wind is your friend.

PIC # 1: Wow 27" 8.75lbs green tube jig
PIC # 2: Howard
TROUT: VERY GOOD: The action continues from shore particularly since there is no boating yet. Even if there was you don't need a boat to catch big fish. You need knowledge of the lake and being in the right spot at the right time. It has been a killer ice off Trophy Season. Be mobile and walk the shoreline. Look for spawn holes in the sand and or work rock drop offs. Jigging is productive as well as the right fly. Don't fly fish yes you do use a clear bubble filled with water, three foot leader and fly. Black and green Woolly Bugger always a good bet. See that, and you thought you didn't fly fish. Bait of choice nightcrawlers always productive.
KOKANEE SALMON: NO REPORT
NORTHERN PIKE: NO REPORT: We haven't caught any yet from shore but this time of year can produce Trophy fish. Have been getting bit off so they are starting to move.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: There are no issues with the ice. This was an awesome Winter week in the first days of Spring. Snow and cold have kept the ice cap just like it was last week maybe even better. Snow melts fast when the sun comes out. All fishing access areas are open. A very tiny bit of open water at the West end where the river comes in. Pretty typical but no shore fishing opportunity. We call the next few weeks TROPHY SEASON. If its on late ice or the earliest of water at the shore you can catch a fish of a life time. No boat required. As we have mentioned the earliest we have ever seen the lake open to boating was March 15 and the latest was May 10. The ice is thick but starting to candle from below. Lake level is still down.
THE COVID THE PARK THE MARINA UPDATE: The color dial has been modified. Park County is now blue. No restrictions on outdoor activities. Indoor dining is 50% of capacity. PIC # 3: Avery experienced the great time of Eleven Mile catching. In addition to this beauty he caught 30 stockers at the North Shore Marina this fun day to remember. Sweet dreams tonight! Pic courtesy Mark Schuetz.
PIC # 4: Shay from Bailey caught her biggest Trout ever! Congrats!!! Hip Hip Hooray!!! Pic courtesy Clay Halstead.
PIC # 5: DELICIOUS Fire up the smoker!
PIC # 6: BEAUTIFUL You don't have to love fishing to love Eleven Mile. Come experience it for yourself. The geese are in Spring is on the way.
TROUT: GOOD TO VERY GOOD: Late ice action is picking up as fish move through spawn mode. Not always hungry but often aggressive. They are taking bait off the bottom and jigs depending on the time of the day. Tube and marabou jigs working well. Stink em up with Pautzke Fire Gel. Couldn't hurt. We have shrimp, crawfish and trout scents that all seem productive. Shallow water is where most of the trophy fish are. Try 3 to 5 feet at any sandy area around the Lake. We like Howbert, Lazy Boy, North Shore and Corral Cove.
We like our 11 Mile Krystal Lazers and tiny Tots. You can almost always catch a fish on one of them. It just depends on the color de jour. Orange has been coming on lately as well as greens both dark and light. If the won't hit your jig drop down to just the bait.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: One thing is for sure if you are a dedicated salmon addict this season was acceptable to say the least. We did not get skunked once. Now we may have only caught one or two on some outings but the opportunities have consistently been there through out the Winter. Most Kokanee anglers don't like to brag or give away their spots but we can assure you there have been full smokers at home. North Shore has been to good in 55 to 60 feet of water. Fish suspended 25 to 40. Rainbow 1/4oz Kastmaster was hot this week.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: As predicted the late ice action is getting better by the day. Fish shallow for best results. Chartreuse is a good color this time of year. They are finicky most days but there have been some slam jam aggressive days too. Mid afternoon has been productive. North Shore , Stoll Mountain and Witchers Cove good places to try. If they hit your Trout rig just right and you are super lucky you might ice a monster. We have consistently seen over the years incredibly large Pike caught at ice off on Chartreuse Power Bait. Get ready!

ICE SKATING: WE HAVE AND MAINTAIN A NICE AREA IF YOU CARE TO SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK STATE PARK PASS REQUIRED
CURRENT CONDITIONS: Although the weather has been difficult our snow totals were no big deal here. Maybe a foot. All roads are clear and dry. All fishing access areas are open. Ice is thick and hard with night time single digit temps and some new snow insulation this ice can be here for awhile. With no pressure ridges to bust open it should be an interesting ice off. The earliest we have ever seen is March 15 and the latest is May 10. Some time in April is common either early or late. It does not look to be early based on current conditions. Ice off shore fishing is some of the best but for now we are hard water angling which the best is also yet to come.

PIC # 1: Why Eleven Mile is World Famous! pic courtesy M. Gonzales
PIC # 2: And on another day in a different spot the fish that makes you come back year after year after year to the Mile. pic courtesy M. Gonzales
TROUT: GOOD: For those that give up on ice fishing this time of year they are missing the Seasonal opportunity for big fish during late ice. Late ice is now until you can't get on. The bigger fish tend to be in shallow water searching for areas to make spawn beds. Five feet of water or less can produce trophy fish. It is the most difficult some times to only be in 3 feet of water. Look to sandy or rocky bottoms. Black Marabou jigs get hot not that they ever get cold. Or just lay bait on the bottom watch and wait. You will need to stick your rig down the hole while you hold on trying to prevent your line from dragging on the ice edge as the monster makes the run. It is a challenge the lighter line you use. Spawn sacks are great but in places like North Shore Marina the stockers can cause havoc with your sacks and destroy them before the big one comes along. Night Crawlers also do well in late ice not that they ever do poorly.
We like our 11 Mile Krystal Lazers and tiny Tots. You can almost always catch a fish on one of them. It just depends on the color de jour. Orange has been coming on lately as well as greens both dark and light. If the won't hit your jig drop down to just the bait.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: The same pattern continues. Some experienced anglers have reported limits. Catching Kokanee takes knowledge and experience. If you know this lake and how to catch salmon you should be successful. Reports from the channel out from Deer Island are good with consistent opportunities. You can catch big ones or small ones out of the same grouping. Duck Island has not been as productive but North Shore out from the Marina has. We just have been working out from the Marina and always seem to get at least one and sometimes we score. Stop in and we will show you on the map where to try. Electronics a must to be successful. Make yourself a jigging machine. We have caught fish on Kastmaster, Krocodile, Buck Shot Rattle and Swedish Pimple. No tip of bait no fish. Make sure you always have an offering. Kokanee Specific Guide Trips available, probably at least two to three weeks left.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR: This is also the time that shallow water is your friend. We have seen very very large fish in five feet right behind the marina. They have looked but not hit of late. These fish are so large that smart stockers if there is such a thing travel along with the giant Northerns swimming along the back of the tail like small fish follow whales. Probably safest place to be…guess there are smart stockers. They have shown interest in a variety of baits but have been hesitent to take. They have swiped at the dogs. Try Bucktail Kastmaster with sucker meat or night crawler. Always have a rig with dog in or ready to drop. At least set one tip up.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: All fishing access areas are open. Expecting some snow today and tonight. In the beginning of the Season there was a positive in flow but for most of the Season it has been negative. In case you haven't noticed there are no pressures ridges to speak of. That's the first time we have seen that. The pressure ridge is created in a full lake with two continents of ice expanding against each other. Water level decrease would eliminate that pressure. It will be interesting to see how that will effect melting since significant ice damage is caused at the pressure ridges once they collapse and wind gets to work in those areas.
THE COVID THE PARK THE MARINA UPDATE: We are a licensed grocery store and operate as an essential business with all required protocols in place. PARK COUNTY GOES TO BLUE . In door dining up to 50% capacity.

PIC # 3: Looks a little cold but the catching was hot. Pic courtesy Mcbriden.
PIC # 4: Issac scored a 21" Cuttbow at Stoll Mtn too! pic courtesy I. Smith
TROUT: GOOD: Stocker action continues unabated at the North Shore. It's a numbers game. Catch a bunch of those then pop a big one. Large fish always chasing small ones. They have also moved down the line to Corral Cove. Look to Rocky Flats, Stoll Mtn, Howbert Point and Witchers Cove for fewer little fish. Shallow water strating to see big cruisers. Work 30 feet or less down to 5. Move around if you can if you see nothing. They could 50 paces away. Lots of different baits working stop in for the latest info.
We like our 11 Mile Krystal Lazers and tiny Tots. You can almost always catch a fish on one of them. It just depends on the color de jour. Orange has been coming on lately as well as greens both dark and light. If the won't hit your jig drop down to just the bait.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: Overall we are doing better than we expected we would this Winter. It is similar to last year but maybe a little better. Kokanee Specific Guide Trips available.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: Decent action continues around the lake. There are definitely monsters cruising the North Shore getting heavy on easy pickins. Waterdogs, Suckers and 1oz Bucktail Kastmaster with small chunk of sucker meat have done well. We have those Masters in Blue/Silver and Chrome. Look to 12 feet of water or less and rock drop offs. East of Howbert to Witchers or Stoll to points West. Late ice is a great time for the big ones. That's not yet. Some time in mid March. This has been a solid Northern Pike Winet Season with perhaps the best yet to come.
The WEEKLY FISHING REPORT is produced by fishermen for fishermen. We try to get it done every Thursday but some times fishing or life gets in the way. So if its not there on Thursday morning it will show up by Friday. We appreciate all the support and acknowledge that many of you won't miss a week but every now and then we might. Be Safe. Fish On!
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES: No matter the time of year we are always looking for that right person that wants to work. Stop in or email. HIRING NOW FOR SUMMER SEASON

CONTEST UPDATE: It looks like we will not be having the contests. We have been ignored. Dumbest thing we have ever heard. There was no asking for a plan it was only telling us we could not have them and that is WRONG We are a licensed Colorado grocery store and operate under all required guidelines. Our contest rules require you fish 30 feet away from any one else in the contest. We were prepared to cancel the award ceremony. Makes no sense but it is what it is at this point. Hope to see you all next season in a competitive mood.
NO CONTEST SPECIAL PROMOTION: WIN A STRIKE MASTER 10" ELECTRIC POWER AUGER $600.00 VALUE. For every $100.00 spent at the Marina Store includes rental, retail, Guided Services and future boat rental reservations receive one numbered entry ticket. Transactions must be made today through January 8 drawing January 9, 2021. Drawing will be video recorded and will be posted online along with the winning number. We will not call you. Present winning ticket to claim the auger. Thirty days to claim. Only one ticket will be drawn. WINNERS ARE NATASHA ND JACK #8309537 AND YES WE WILL DO ANOTHER AUGER GIVEAWAY WITH DRAWING DATE OF FEBRUARY 13 WE THANK EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT
CURRENT CONDITIONS: It dropped about five inches last night. Fresh snow always makes for more of a workout. Don't forget your shovel. We like putting our shelter on the ice. We also like to clear a little patch for extra sun beam. You'll see zoo plankton start to appear the more light that gets through the ice. Where their is food their is fish.
THE COVID THE PARK THE MARINA UPDATE: We are a licensed grocery store and operate as an essential business with all required protocols in place. PARK COUNTY GOES TO YELLOW . In door dining up to 50% capacity. No real change for our operation. Outdoor activities allowed up to 175 people. We will investigate if that means we can have March Madness but it is very late in the day for us to get it together.
ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
WATER FLOW: 127 CFS IN 195 CFS OUT Water level continues to drop. This is significant for a number of reasons. We have always found negative outflow results in less of a bite vs positive or neutral. No science here just experience. Also if you like to fish very shallow water and some do like 3 feet. Better be careful when punching a hole. An unsuspecting rock or bottom can do serious damage to your equipment.
PRODUCT NOTE: WATER DOGS: Our supplier told us he would run out of water dogs for the season by Feb 8. We have a good supply now but they fly out the store on weekends. We hope to get some before he runs out. They keep well in a 5 gallon bucket with refreshed water from time to time. Just saying you might want to think ahead. We certainly hope to be ice fishing through March with the best Pike action to come and they have been consistently successful this year.
SHELTERS: We are sold out of the popular Shappell Wide House 6500 and Eagle is sold out for the season. We have one non insulated 5500 left and just got in five insulated ones but only have 3 left..
AUGERS: We have no 8" power augers but do still have some 10" Strike Master Electric. A superior piece of equipment. We tried Ion's as rentals and the Strike Master in our opinion is a better design and more durable. Based on serious use and experience you should think of investing in one.
SUPPORT THE REPORT: Many thanks to all of you that support our store and business. We love you. Many Many Thanks! We are here for you with a great selection of what works and up to the minute fishing information. AS they say it doesn't get any fresher than that!

PIC # 1: January Pic Winner Jacob Martinez. That Brown of a lifetime was caught on a tube jig.
PIC # 2: Kevin Easter reports he had a good day on Sunday with this being one of many on steady action day on pink jig. Many came in Sunday reporting very slow action for them. Just goes to show…you never know. The background may give a hint to location. Thanks courtesy pic K. Easter.
TROUT: FAIR TO GOOD: Action has slowed for many but plenty of nice fish being iced.Stocker action at North Shore should be fun this weekend. 15 to 30 feet of water has been a consistently good depth. Stoll and points West always show promise. Rocky Flats all the way to Corral Cove has also seen fun action. We also like Lazy Boy and Howbert. Witchers Cove is to far a drive for us but if you are coming in that way Deer Island hold some really big fish and it is easy access. Duck Island holds big fish too but access is really a challenge in terms of length of hike. But if you work the rock drop offs there there are big surprise. It gets so little pressure and big fish don't go traveling around the lake for the most part. They hold to their spots waiting on you.
We like our 11 Mile Krystal Lazers and tiny Tots. You can almost always catch a fish on one of them. It just depends on the color de jour. Orange has been coming on lately as well as greens both dark and light. If the won't hit your jig drop down to just the bait.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR: We have not been able to get out that way. Friends report the same kind of action we have seen in past weeks. It's either hot or it's not. Fish definitely still being caught. Work big spoons, Swedish Pimple PFO in 3, 4 or 5, Krocodile in Pearl, RB and Kastmaster in CDY and RB. You need to be able to get down fast if they are deep and you are not. We like to keep a small crappie jig or sparkle tube (because we still have a stash) at about 15 feet for the high cruisers and there always seems to be a few of them. We are jigging machine folk. It doesn't always work but when it does they are awesome. Where can you get one? Our suggestion is build one. Small windshield wiper in a box. Very basic don't go wild. We use three strings of Pop Gear usually Green Rainbow off a 20 foot 50lb leader. Salmon fishing is more than just luck and it takes effort and practice. Book a Guide Trip and we will show you all we know.
NORTHERN PIKE: FAIR TO GOOD: The fun season continues for many. Water Dog the bait of choice. Find a spot with one big one and their is almost always a second hanging around. We have consistently seen big fish in the Marina area. They always seem to have interest but either don't take the bait aggressively or are extremely cautious and out wait you. Make a noise move your bait watch them back off.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: Lake is 100% capped. Thickness is running 12 to 16 inches. We had another two days of the South Park Deep Freeze with temps at -25 with high of 8. After that we went to 42 for high and 24 low. No new snow. Roads are clear.
THE COVID THE PARK THE MARINA UPDATE: Park County is currently at level orange. We are a licensed grocery store and operate as an essential business with all required protocols in place. The Park is currently open 24/7/365. Campsites are open.
ELEVEN MILE STATE PARK IS LOCATED IN THE SOUTH PARK NATIONAL HERITAGE AREA
WATER FLOW: 128 CFS IN 72.5 CFS OUT At this rate the level is slowly rising. They are obviously moving to refill the lake so ice conditions may vary dramatically. Where do they get the water in Winter…Spinney.
ICE FISHING TIP OF THE WEEK: If you have a shelter. Ice Anchors. It is South Park.. If it is really cold there will likely be no wind. But if it is warm your chances for wind greatly increase. Be prepared.
SUPPORT THE REPORT: Many thanks to all of you that support our store and business. We love you. Many Many Thanks! We are here for you with a great selection of what works and up to the minute fishing information. AS they say it doesn't get any fresher than that!

PIC # 1: What a fantastic fish. This season has seen a good number of very large fish like this. Good job and congratulations Brianna. Pic courtesy B. Boyd.
PIC # 2: When you get that kind of a fish you are hooked for life. Cheryl certainly is. Congratulations!! Pic courtesy David Acosta
PIC # 3: That's two off a limit. Way to go. Best we have seen so far this year. Congratulations Dave you know what you are doing because to get 8 that's what it takes! Pic courtesy D. Jones.
PIC # 4: Andy caught this 5.4lbs beauty off Stoll on 01.13 in 30 feet of water tube jig on the bottom. Congratulations pic. courtesy A. Bennett
TROUT: GOOD: Action was a little bit slower but there was no shortage of big fish landed. 15 to 20 feet seems to be a consistently productive depth. Most big ones hit just off the bottom although you never know. We have seen giants just below the ice. Many different baits continue to produce. Stop in for the latest info before you hit the ice or take a lunch break for the up to the minute report.
We like our 11 Mile Krystal Lazers and tiny Tots. You can almost always catch a fish on one of them. It just depends on the color de jour. Orange has been coming on lately as well as greens both dark and light. If the won't hit your jig drop down to just the bait.
KOKANEE SALMON: FAIR TO GOOD: We have to put "good" because Dave in pic # 3 killed it so it is doable. But they are the most finiky fish you will find. We have seen very large schools at a variety of depths right down to the bottom in 60 feet. They are on the move and some times its seems almost impossible to entice. But as Dave will tell you when they are hitting it is an adrenaline rush to be sure. We are putting a bait down to the bottom and can move it up to fish faster than we can get it down. So we live with one up and one down. The fish have come through at every conceivable depth 15 feet to the bottom.
NORTHERN PIKE: GOOD: Action continues to be consistently good with lots of impressive fish being caught. Water dogs and suckers continue their productive run with size and presentation absolutely mattering. Nice fish have been reported caught all around the lake with Stoll to Cross Creek being very productive. 8 to 12 feet of water has been good. Mid morning and mid afternoon has seen the better bite.
