Rated 5 out of 5 by Raven from Great out of the box Just recently bought these Salomon Quest 4 Goretex. Took them out of the box and hiked for 3 hours and then wore them the rest of the day. I hike in other Salomon products and while I like them a lot the Quest 4 are my new favorite. The fit is really good, enough space in the toe box, and I had no hot spots after hiking 3 hours and wearing them all day. I was walking on light snow covered trails and found the traction to be very good. This is a very comfortable lightweight boot and I found no negatives on my initial hike. I will report back after more miles, but I expect no issues if this boot is like my previous Salomon boots.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cburns from So good but so bad My first pair of Salomon boots were the Quest 4D GTX, absolutely loved them. Great fit, hardly any break in, and extremely comfortable even on 14+ mile hikes. After about 50 miles worth of usage, the rubber toe cap began to separate. Returned to REI, left with with the current model quest. Still a great fit, super comfy, and supportive. First hike in them was a simple 6 miles, toe cap on both shoes were beginning to separate after one use. For a boot that costs $240, and had began separating after one hike, I promptly went back to REI to return them and get my money back.I am an avid hiker/ backpacker, and I am extremely disappointed with the durability of these boots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Cid1371 from Great boots! Don't last! Probably the most comfortable boot out of the box that I have ever owned. 0 break in required, 0 blisters, great traction. Unfortunately after 2 months both toe caps started to delaminate, and got progressively worse as time wore on. I tried to replace them with a warranty pair, but they were in the middle of changing to the 2021 models and none were to be had. Was stuck with leaky $230.00 boots. You would think that after so many returns, complaints, and issues with the same problem that a company like Solomon would hope a flight to China and see what's going on. Really bummed, loved those boots....for a while

Rated 2 out of 5 by wcoldham from Fit and Comfort great, GT WP breaks down quickly Boots are less than 2 years old. I only wear them about 6 weeks of the year for hunting season. Started leaking water after the first season (2020). Stuck with them as is was not too bad. But this year (2021) with an early snow and moisture on the ground they were soaked after a few hours and that was with wearing waterproof leg gaiters. Stepping to cross shallow streams also caused water entry and wet feet. With a gore tex membrane it takes a long time to dry them out which equates to wet feet for several days. The side sole by the toe box is detaching. Love the boot for comfort but they are not anymore waterproof than a regular hiking boot. Salomon boots fit me very well, I wished they would make them more durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dave hunter from Great boots once again I have owned multiple pairs of Salomon quest boots over the last few years. I was hesitant about the new version released this year because of some negative reviews I read online. But after giving them a try, I'm convinced they are just as good if not better than the previous versions. The grip seems more aggressive and should last longer than the old version, that wore quick. I will definitely purchase them again. The first week I wore them i went on a backcountry deer hunt at 11k feet and the boots held up great and no break-in required. I covered steep, off trail terrain with no issues. Great grip on loose shale etc.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Youngpitty from Disappointed I dont know if Salomon changed something about this year's versions of the Quest 4d but something seems different. This is my 5th pair of this boot and I loved all the other pairs. Didn't need any breaking in, could wear thing socks and never got a single blister. With this new pair, my heals are getting torn apart. I'm even getting blisters on my heal on the area of my heal towards the inside of my foot. Doesn't matter what I try to cover the skin with I still get blister. Extremely disappointed with this recent version of this boot.
